The skinny: Notre Dame senior guard Scott Martin didnt play in Saturdays 69-53 home win over Saint Francis (Pa.) because of tendinitis in his knee. Coach Mike Brey told reporters that he hoped to have Martin back for tonights game. Senior center Garrick Sherman made his first start for Notre Dame in place of Martin. Sherman scored 11 points against Saint Francis, giving him back-to-back double-digit scoring games for the first time in his career. The Irish are holding opponents to an average of 26.2 points in the first half.
