Feeling thankful

Thanksgiving is in our rearview mirror and we’re barreling toward Christmas. I love Christmas and the onset of winter weather, but I am still in a Thanksgiving mindset.

This year, to celebrate our thankfulness, Melissa Long, Tommy Schoegler and I came up with a fun way to give something back to our community. For each new “like” we get on our Facebook pages through Dec. 21, we are going to give a dime to the Salvation Army. “Like” us at “Curtis Smith INC Weather,” “Melissa Long INC News” and “Tommy Schoegler INC Sports” and let’s make a bunch of little donations add up to some big help for people in our area.

Weather wise: Speaking of being thankful, how about the weather on Thanksgiving Day? With a high of 62, it was our first 60-degree Thanksgiving since 1973 and the second-warmest Turkey Day since 1950.
