Key matchup: Saint Francis’ forwards will need to find a way to slow down reserve center Garrick Sherman when he comes off the bench. Sherman, who sat out last season after transferring from Michigan State, led the Irish in scoring with 18 points in Wednesday’s 65-48 win over George Washington. It is the second time this season Sherman has come off the bench to lead Notre Dame in scoring.

The skinny: Notre Dame is 15-5 over the last two seasons with a starting lineup of Atkins, Cooley, Pat Connaughton, Jerian Grant and Scott Martin. … Notre Dame has won 103 of its last 110 home games and is 38-1 in its last 39 home games. … The Irish are 43-0 at home in November under coach Mike Brey.
