Truck and hundreds of rims stolen

Five thieves raided an auto parts business early Wednesday, stealing a pickup truck and hauling away about 600 aluminum wheel rims, the New Haven Police Department said.

The burglars broke into a fenced area of Economy Auto Parts, 5114 Old Maumee Road, between 4 and 6 a.m. to steal the rims and the truck, a two-tone gray Chevrolet S-10 with a trailer hitch and eyeballs drawn onto the headlights.

Surveillance video captured images of two extended-cab pickup trucks that the thieves used in the heist: a white, 1990s Chevrolet Silverado and a newer Silverado towing a small wooden trailer.

Anyone with information is asked to call New Haven police at 748-7093.
