INDIANAPOLIS -- We've reached the halfway point in the 5A title game, and so far this one belongs to no one.
You can credit Snider's defense and special teams for that.
The Panthers have gotten burned over the top repeatedly, but they've been tough inside the 20. Once they blocked a field goal attempt. And Keanu Evans broke up a fourth-down fade to the end zone to thwart Lawrence Central in the waning seconds of the half.
So it's a 14-7 game, and Lawrence's second touchdown was essentially a gift: Snider quarterback Brandon Phelps' arm was hit and he fumbled deep in his own end, and Lawrence converted in two plays.
Phelps immediately responded with a masterful 11-play, 72-yard drive that ended with his 2-yard touchdown to Alec Reuille. At halftime, Phelps is 10-of-14 passing for 75 yards.
More later.
