Snider lost to top-ranked Lawrence Central 39-14 in the Class 5A state title game Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium.
The Panthers were attempting to win the program's first state title in 20 years.
The No. 4 Panthers (14-1) also finished second in 1986, 2002 and 2004 and were runner-up 1981 in 3A. They won the 5A title in 1992.
The Bears (15-0) won after finishing as the 2010 5A state runners-up.
