INDIANAPOLIS -- Halftime here in the 2A state title game, and it's all Bishop Luers.
The Knights lead unbeaten Indianapolis Ritter 27-7, and it's that close only because Ritter scored a touchdown with 18 seconds left in the first half. Until then, a team that came in averaging 51.4 points per game in the playoffs was getting shut out, and shut down, by the Knights.
Jaylon Smith has a couple of touchdowns, Jaquale Cooper has one and Quinn Cook has a 42-yard strike to Mike Rogers for the other touchdown. Cook, who came in with just 61 completions on the season, did not throw an incomplete pass in the first half.
The Knights seem just too fast, too strong and too everything for Ritter.
