Key matchup: Cooley, a 6-9 forward, earned a spot on the Big East honor roll this week after recording a double-double in three of the Irishs first four games, and he has a team-high 10 blocks. George Washingtons 6-9 Armwood, who has nine blocks, will have to try to contain Cooley.
The skinny: Notre Dame fell out of the rankings after going 1-1 in the Coaches vs. Cancer finals in Brooklyns Barclays Center last weekend. The Irish lost 79-70 in overtime to Saint Josephs and defeated BYU 78-68. Irish coach Mike Brey graduated from George Washington and was the Colonials captain and team MVP in the 1981-82 season. Irish guard Jerian Grant returned to form against BYU scoring 19 points after averaging 8.7 in the first three games.
