Ohio ski resort worker loses arm in accident

BUTLER, Ohio (AP) — A family member says a worker at an Ohio ski resort had his left arm torn off at the shoulder while installing new equipment.

A nephew of Russell Watts tells the Mansfield News Journal that the accident happened Tuesday afternoon while Watts was installing a conveyor lift in the new tubing park at Clear Fork Ski Resort in Butler.

An emergency crew flew Watts to a hospital in Akron, where he was in serious condition in intensive care.

The resort's general manager declined to comment.

Watts' nephew, Zach Perry, tells the newspaper that his uncle has worked at the resort since it reopened last year.
