Woman, 22, accused of running over man

A 22-year-old woman used her Chrysler PT Cruiser to intentionally hit her estranged boyfriend several times, breaking his leg, according to court documents.

Katie L. Miller, of the 2600 block of Florida Drive, faces charges of felony battery and misdemeanor criminal recklessness. She was being held Monday at the Allen County Lockup in lieu of $10,750 bail.

Shortly after midnight Sept. 22, Fort Wayne police responded to a report of a hit-and-run crash, and they found Miller’s boyfriend on the pavement with a compound fracture to his lower left leg, according to court papers.

He told police that Miller, his former live-in girlfriend of 2 1/2 years, had struck his legs with her car numerous times. This broke his shinbone; he fell down; and then Miller drove over his left leg before fleeing, court papers stated.

Her boyfriend was hospitalized for several days and underwent surgery. A steel rod from his kneecap to his ankle was inserted into his leg, court papers stated.
