Subway on Goshen robbed at gunpoint

A man with a handgun robbed a fast-food restaurant Monday morning in northwest Fort Wayne, police said.

The man came into the Subway at 1575 Goshen Ave., west of Sherman Boulevard, and ordered a sandwich, said officer John Chambers, a police spokesman.

An employee made the sandwich, and as she was ringing up the man’s order, he pulled a silver-and-black handgun and demanded money, Chambers said.

He received an undisclosed amount of cash and left heading in an unknown direction. The robbery was reported about 6:40 a.m.

The robber, who had on a gray, hooded sweatshirt and black pants, was described as a “younger-looking,” light-skinned black man who stood 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-7.
