This man is believed to have robbed the Chase Bank branch at 6704 E. State Blvd. this morning, Fort Wayne police said.

Georgetown bank branch robbed

The Chase Bank branch at Georgetown Square was robbed this morning, and police are seeking the male robber, Fort Wayne police said.

Police said they responded to the bank branch at 6704 E. State Blvd. at 10:23 a.m. on a report of a bank robbery.

Witnesses told police that a man entered the bank, approached a teller and presented a note demanding money. He fled north on foot toward a nearby apartment complex with an undisclosed amount of money.

The man was last seen wearing a black ball cap and a black hooded jacket, police said.

Anyone knowing the suspect is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers at 436-7867.

The robbery is being investigated by the Northeast Indiana Bank Robbery Task Force, which consists of investigators from Fort Wayne and Indiana State police, the Allen County Sheriff's Department and the FBI.
