Some Komets fans found other entertainment in the 5-0 loss Saturday.

Komets have got some problems

This photo by Swikar Patel probably sums up how many Komets fans were feeling this weekend, after the Komets lost 2-1 to Toledo on Saturday and 5-0 to Evansville tonight.

The Komets' biggest problem has been their special-teams play. Tonight, they gave up three power-play goals (I know, one of them came a split second after the power play ended) and two short-handed goals.

The Komets' power play is 0 for its last 20 through 13 periods.

That's just awful for a team that was on a five-game winning streak not long ago, and is now on a three-game losing streak.

And the Komets got awsome goaltending this weekend from Kenny Reiter and Charlie Effinger; what if that hadn't happened?

I know the Komets are missing a lot of guys, but it doesn't explain this, necessarily. Having Matt Kennedy and Eric Giosa wouldn't solve all of the problems with the skilled forwards.

"It was a frustrating game for us," Komets coach Al Sims said, "and an embarrassing loss, obviously."

There's not a whole lot that can be said.
