Te'o finalist for Lombardi Award

Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o is in the running for another postseason honor.

Before the No. 3 Irish (10-0) play host to Wake Forest, the senior was named one of four finalists for the Lombardi Award, given to the college lineman who displays courage, character and team spirit on and off the field.

Te'o has a team-high 92 tackles, and his six interceptions this season are the most ever by a Notre Dame linebacker. He has also recovered two fumbles and has two quarterback hurries that led to interceptions.

Te'o is also a finalist for the Nagurski Trophy, Campbell Trophy and Senior CLASS Award and is a semifinalist for the Bednarik Award, Butkus Award, Walter Camp Award, Lott Trophy and Maxwell Award.

The other three Lombardi finalists are Jadaveon Clowney of South Carolina, Barret Jones of Alabama and Jarvis Jones of Georgia. The Lombardi winner will be announced Dec. 5 in Houston.
