The elderly couple told police they had been duped out of thousands of dollars and that their Social Security checks were diverted to Georgia, which gave detectives their first real clue.Northbound Interstate 69 was closed Friday morning in Huntington County because of a crash involving several vehicles.
Update: As of 10:34 a.m., the right lane remained closed.
The Indiana State Police said shortly after 8:30 a.m. that the road was closed at the 290-mile marker.
It said that the Indiana Department of Transportations would be be diverting northbound traffic onto U.S. 224 at exit 286.
INDOT's website said at 9 a.m. that a tractor-trailer rig overturned three miles north of Markle and that only emergency vehicles were permitted in the area.
