  • Your chance to make D-League
    The D-League will hold its annual national tryouts June 15 in New York. The one-day event will see 200 hopefuls in full-court games in front of team executives, coaches and scouts.
  • Howard, Smith work at Development League camp
    Mad Ants guard Ron Howard and center Tommy Smith accepted invitations to the NBA Development League Elite Mini Camp, which started Monday and runs through Tuesday in Chicago.
  • Record year for D-League
    It wasn't only the Mad Ants that made 2012-13 their best season; the rest of the NBA Development League had a record-setting year, as well.

Ants waive three

The Mad Ants trimmed their roster to 12 players Friday, a day before they were to visit Canton, Ohio, for their only NBA D-League exhibition game.

Forwards Dominic Cheek and Lenny Daniel and guard Dante Williams were released by the team Friday.

The Ants will take 12 players to Canton for the 3 p.m. exhibition game Saturday.

Fort Wayne will open its sixth D-League season Nov. 23 against Erie BayHawks. The roster must be pared to 10 players by that time. Tipoff is 7:30 p.m. at Memorial Coliseum.
