And Another Thing

Soccer star Hope Solo leaves a courtroom with her lawyer Peter Offenbecher, left, after a bail hearing for former Seattle Seahawks player Jerramy Stevens in Kirkland, Wash., on Tuesday. Stevens, a former Seahawks tight end, and Solo had planned to get married Tuesday, but the football player wound up in court after police arrested him on suspicion of assaulting Solo, according to police and court records. The judge released Stevens saying there was no evidence connecting Stevens to any assault, according to news reports.

My big fat creepy wedding

And you thought the whole David Petraeus/Paula Broadwell "Fatal Attraction" thing was creepy.

Now comes what the Blob fervently hopes will only devolve into something relatively harmless, like another reality show about dysfunctional relationships: The Hope Solo/Jerramy Stevens nuptials.

In this corner, one of the glamour figures of U.S. women's soccer.

In this corner, a former Seahawks tight end and apparently incorrigible thug whose rap sheet takes longer to get through than his career stats.

Hard to know what to say when the two tied the knot mere hours after they apparently had a physical altercation that landed Stevens in jail on a fourth-degree assault beef. Well, except for "What th--?"

This one has bad ending written all over it. I just hope it doesn't also have tragic ending written all over it.
