New library books

The following new craft and “how to” books are available at the Dupont Branch of the Allen County Public Library.

•“Amigurumi on the Go: 30 Patterns for Crocheting Kids’ Bags, Backpacks, and More” by Ana Paula Rimoli

This has a wide range of projects with funny faces and goofy grins. Includes patterns for an owl book bag, octopus bag, assorted backpacks, a mushroom purse, change purses and more.

•“Stick it!: 99 D.I.Y. Duct Tape Projects” by T.L. Bonaddio

From whacked-out wallets to wild wearables, go from sticky to stylin’ with these super-hip duct-tape projects. Updated with lots of new ideas and colorful tapes to inspire.

•“Stop. Go. Quilt. Sew!: Make 12 Fun Projects for Boys to Enjoy” by Angela Yosten

Yosten’s transportation-themed designs were inspired by her son’s love of toy cars – and the lack of quilting and sewing projects appropriate for boys. Each project uses a scrap applique technique that incorporates strips of scrap fabric (or, optionally, pre-cut strips) and fusible web.

•“Tiny Whittling: More Than 20 Projects to Make” by Steve Tomashek

This handbook uses step-by-step photography and easy-to-follow instructions to teach you how to whittle whimsical miniature creatures. Anyone can make a charming carving in less than an hour.

•“Upcycling Celebrations: A Use-What-You-Have Guide to Decorating, Gift-giving & Entertaining” by Danny Seo

This book features projects for creative “upcycling” – using used and recycled products to create extraordinary gifts and decorations for celebrations from New Year’s Eve through Christmas.
