Homecoming for six Lancers

It's not as though Grace is that far away, located in Winona Lake, near Warsaw, but tonight's game with IPFW at Memorial Coliseum will bring a few of the team members closer to home.

Six players on Grace's 4-0 team that meets 0-1 IPFW tonight are Fort Wayne and area players.

Starting forward Allison Kauffman, who is second on the team in scoring with a 12.5 average, was a standout high school player at Blackhawk Christian. Starting senior center Jayla Starks (8.8) is from North Side. Starting senior guard Emily Bidwell (6.8) went to Whitko.

Lindsey Schaefer is a sophomore forward who played at Carroll, Heather House, a sophomore guard, went to Garrett, and freshman forward Jo Boren went to Lakeland Christian.

Although Grace is unbeaten in four games, it lost a Nov. 10 exhibition game to IUPUI, 107-48.

Steve Warden blogs all things IPFW.
