The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department and Coroner's Office are currently working an investigation into the death of a female along the CSX railroad tracks on the eastside of Lake Wawasee.
Kosciusko County Sheriff's Deputies, along with emergency personnel from Syracuse, responded early this morning at 2:40 a.m. after receiving information that a CSX train had struck a pedestrian.
Mike Wilson of the Kosciusko County Coroner's Office pronounced the individual dead at the scene from blunt force trauma.
K.C.S.D. and Coroner's Office officials had not identified the female as of early this morning and are still investigating the incident at the current time.
