Debbie Stoller has done it again. Stitch 'n Bitch Superstar Knitting is 356 pages of undiluted awesomesauce.
Part 1 covers "The Stitches" and discusses colorwork, cables, lace, bling, and a whole lot of other techniques, like Kitchener stitch for four different knit-purl combinationa. It is all well-illustrated, clearly described, and helped along with photographs.
Part 2 is about creating your own patterns. It starts with a sketch and ends with deciding details like collars and button bands.
Part 3 includes 41 patterns that range from Skull Isle socks by Chrissy Gardiner to the Leafy Lace Cardigan by Molly Phariss. The patterns are organized in the same way that the "stitches" section is, so a knitter could choose to read about, say, intarsia, then try it out with a pattern or two.
Overall, a fantastic book that is well worth buying.
