Larkins officially named

Although he has been working with the IPFW women's basketball team since practice time became available, IPFW officially named Lee Larkins as an assistant coach.

Larkins had been director and a coach for the Indiana Elite Central Girls AAU program and founder of the Indiana Explosion AAU Basketball Club.

He was also a three-year letterman for the Purdue football team, earning All-Big Ten honors in 1979 as a linebacker.

The women will open their season at 2 p.m. Sunday against SIU Edwardsville at Gates Center.
