OK, so let me get this straight:

There's this guy, see, who set up a mechanism to help kids from other countries financially who wanted to pursue basketball opportunities in the U.S. But, because, 20 years ago, he gave $185 to the Indiana University athletic department (for IU athletic booster stickers, he says), the NCAA has socked two of the players he subsequently helped -- both of whom ended up going to IU -- with nine-game suspensions and payments to charity.

Here's the kicker to this: The players in question, freshmen Hanner Mosquera-Perea and Peter Jurkin, weren't even born yet when Mark Adams gave his princely sum to IU. And it happened years before Adams set up his aid program.
