2 draw prison time for robbery at hotel

Two men accused of forcing their way into a hotel room to rob the couple inside were sentenced this week in Allen Superior Court.

On Monday, Jamarcus A. Harris, 24, of the 6200 block of Downington Drive, was sentenced. Under the terms of a plea agreement, Allen Superior Court Judge Fran Gull sentenced him to 10 years in prison but ordered four years suspended and to be served on probation.

Also sentenced was Tyrell Logan, 24, of the 1800 block of Kinsmoor Avenue. He was also sentenced Thursday to 10 years in prison with four years suspended, according to court documents.

The two men, along with Dominic R. Wallace, 22, of the 3300 block of Portage Boulevard, were charged with robbery after police said they forced their way into a couple’s hotel room at Econo Lodge, 5707 Challenger Parkway, near West Washington Center and Lima roads, at 2 a.m. June 15.

They forced the couple on the floor, tied them up with belts and one of the men put a gun to the husband’s head, according to court documents. They left with $52 cash and were apprehended by police shortly afterward.

Last month, Wallace was sentenced to eight years in prison with five years suspended.
