Pedestrian hurt seriously, struck by vehicle during altercation

An adult male pedestrian is in critical condition after he was struck by a vehicle during an altercation in the 4500 block of Plaza Drive early Sunday morning, Fort Wayne police said.

Police responded about 12:30 a.m. to the personal injury hit-skip case.

It is unknown whether the collision was intentional or accidental, police said.

Paramedics transported the victim to a hospital in serious condition. His condition was downgraded to critical at the hospital.

Investigators interviewed multiple witnesses at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation by Fort Wayne police and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s office.
