Pastor accused of sexual misconduct with teen

A Warsaw pastor was jailed early Friday on a criminal warrant on several charges alleging sexual misconduct with a minor.

The Warsaw Police Department said Robert B. Haywood, 77, of South Washington Street, was arrested at his home on a warrant on charges that he took part inappropriate and illegal sexual acts with a 14-year-old girl with significant mental and physical handicaps.

The charges resulted from a three-month investigation involving Haywood, a pastor at Harvest Time Ministries Church, 4934 E. Pierceton Road, the police said in a written statement.

Warsaw detectives have been investigating the allegations since July, the statement said.

Haywood has been charged with one count of sexual misconduct with a minor, sexual misconduct with a minor and sexual battery.
