Fort Wayne VA sets drive-thru flu shots

– They won’t be getting burgers and fries, but eligible veterans will be able to receive flu vaccinations at a drive-thru clinic offered by the local VA hospital this upcoming Saturday.

The drive-thru clinic will be open from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Fort Wayne campus at 2121 Lake Ave., according to the VA.

Veterans registered in a VA facility will be able to come to the VA’s Fort Wayne campus to receive vaccinations against influenza, something the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend for everyone.

Eligible veterans will need to present their VA Identification Card and are encouraged to wear loose clothing around the arms to facilitate the process.

Veterans not registered but interested in the vaccinations should contact their local VANIHCS facility for eligibility information prior to Saturday, VA officials said in a written statement.
