Hit on Auger & ensuing fight

Here is the hit that Evansville's Aaron Gens put on Chris Auger, and the ensuing fight with Colten Hayes of the Komets. From Oct. 20, 2012, at Memorial Coliseum.

Video: Hit on Auger and the fight

It looks as if Komets forward Chris Auger may have suffered a bad injury on this hit tonight, laid out by Aaron Gens of the Evansville IceMen.

Gens then fought the Komets' Colten Hayes.

See the above video.

The hit looks clean to me and most of us in the press box, including Komets brass. The ECHL's disciplinarian, Joe Ernst, is here, though.

Fort Wayne leads 1-0 midway through the first on a power play goal by Brett Smith, set up by Brandon Marino's pass from behind the net.
