Cavs' Fincher to Xavier

Canterbury junior forward Kindell Fincher has committed to Xavier University in Cincinnati, per a news release from Canterbury.

"Canterbury School is pleased and proud of Kindell's decision to attend Xavier University on a full basketball scholarship," said Scott Kreiger, the former girls coach and now boys coach at Canterbury. "Xavier's Coach Amy Waugh is going to enjoy the opportunity to work with Kindell's dynamic talents and winning attitude."

Waugh is a former Homestead standout.

The 5-foot-10 Fincher, who averaged 21.2 points and 12.2 rebounds last year, was part of the Cavaliers' Class A state championship last spring.

Wayne Kreiger, Scott's father, is the Canterbury girls program's head coach this season.
