Woman gets 2 years for prostituting teen

Mullins

A Milwaukee woman accused of prostituting a 16-year-old girl over the Internet was ordered Thursday to serve two years of a four-year sentence in prison.

Fort Wayne police arrested Michelle A. Mullins, 29, in March after an undercover sting landed a detective in a local motel with the 16-year-old. The girl told police that Mullins had brought her to Indiana from Milwaukee and had posted ads for her on backpage.com, court records said.

Upon her arrest, Mullins was charged with promoting prostitution and several counts of drug possession.

She eventually pleaded guilty last month in Allen Superior Court to promoting prostitution as part of a plea agreement with county prosecutors. That agreement called for the drug charges against her to be dropped.
