Senior complex 'suspended,' Lutheran Life Villages says

Officials at Lutheran Life Villages last year embarked on a project they said would result in a $50 million, 178-unit "resort-style" senior citizen complex for independent and assisted-living.

Now they are taking a step back.

Stopping short of saying the development has been scrapped altogether, interim President and CEO Alex Kiefer said it has been "suspended right now."

The complex was to take root at the northwest corner of Coldwater and Pion roads and result in at least 75 jobs, averaging $16 an hour.
