About 3 p.m. Thursday the Rev. Bill McGill looked out of his window and pondered that it was the 37th day of his 40-day fast to draw attention to violence in the community, and there had been no civilian-on-civilian homicides in Fort Wayne.The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department are investigating the theft Monday of 24 firearms from a northeast Indiana business.
On Tuesday, they announced a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone responsible for taking firearms from Angler Bait & Tackle, 7430 S. Indiana 327, southeast of Big Long Lake.
Anyone with information is asked to call the ATF crime gun hotline at 1-800-283-4867 or the county sheriff’s department at 260-668-1000. The ATF hotline is toll-free and callers may remain anonymous.
