Walkowiak, an Ohio native, was most recently a priest at a parishFORT WAYNE – City officials announced Friday that curbside pickup of debris from the wind storms of June 29 and July 5 has been completed and the city will expedite the removal of debris that remains on private property.
Starting Sept. 24, Neighborhood Code Enforcement will begin providing notices to owners whose properties still contain debris. If debris is not removed after 10 days, a Neighborhood Code Enforcement contractor will remove the debris and the property owner will be billed for the work.
Residents may take storm debris to the City’s Biosolids Facility, 6210 Lake Ave. The facility is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Saturday and from noon to 6 p.m. Sundays. A small fee is collected based on the weight of the debris being dropped off.
