Early this week I finally spotted hummingbird activity in my yard. Once at the feeder and another time at a planter with fuchsia flowers. Hummingbirds usually show up around the first of May in my yard, but this year they seem to be two weeks late.The beautiful mandevilla (my favorite posey) in front of our retirement apartment (at Stellhorn Retirement Community, Fort Wayne) seems to have a strain of “beanstalk” this year. It is reaching for the stars, in a year when bunnies are eating the lovely ground flowers we usually have.
