Surveillance video taps break-in suspects

Kitch

Warsaw police made quick work of a break-in at a city business this weekend after officers recognized the suspects on a surveillance video.

Shortly after 5 a.m. Saturday, offers were called to The Underground at 3865 Lake City Highway about the glass door being broken out, according to a written statement from the Warsaw Police Department.

It said the business owner and officers reviewed the video and that the officers knew the suspects from a traffic stop earlier that night.

A Fulton County deputy stopped the black 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix and detained two juveniles, the statement said. The Indiana State Police found the third suspect at his home in rural Akron.

Daniel W. Kitch, 19, was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on charges of burglary with forcible entry, the statement said, and the 17-year-olds were released to their parents. Charges of burglary will be forwarded to the Kosciusko County Probation Department.

Nothing was reported stolen.
