TERRE HAUTE – Police said one person was killed and two others were wounded when an Indiana State University student fired shots in a parking lot of the Terre Haute campus.
Police said William Mallory, 21, opened fire about 3 a.m. Friday following a disagreement in a bar across the street from the parking lot. Police said Mallory is in custody after surrendering to officers in the Indianapolis area.
Terre Haute assistant police chief Shawn Keen told The Tribune-Star (http://bit.ly/O9AVfm) that Dustin Kelly, 24, of Terre Haute was fatally shot. Two other Terre Haute men were wounded in the shooting.
Keen said it appears that words were exchanged inside the Ballyhoo Tavern and that disagreement continued out to the parking lot, with the shootings about an hour later.
