ASHLEY – Authorities in northeastern Indiana say a motorcyclist was found after he crashed after fleeing from a police officer.
The Ashley Police Department told WANE-TV (http://bit.ly/SlGFFI) that an officer tried to stop the motorcyclist about 1 a.m. Wednesday for a traffic infraction when he drove away at a high speed from the town onto a county road.
Police said the officer lost sight of the motorcycle but found it crashed off the rural road a few miles from the town.
The Steuben County coroner pronounced 34-year-old Howard Squier of rural Hudson dead at the scene about 30 miles north of Fort Wayne.
