Power outage hits south-side traffic lights

  • Update: The city of Fort Wayne sent out a notice at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday that all of the lights were functioning.

FORT WAYNE – Due to a power outage, the traffic signals at the intersections listed below are not functioning at this hour, the city of Fort Wayne announced at 10:40 a.m. Tuesday.

Indiana Michigan Power's website said more than 1,600 customers were without power shortly as of before 11 a.m. Tuesday. The number had not changed as of noon.

The city has placed temporary stop signs at these intersections:

  • Fairfield and Pettit.
  • Pettit and Lafayette.
  • Lafayette and Paulding.
  • Paulding and Calhoun.
