Abby Jane, Checkers and Magic need homes.CLEVELAND – Police in Cleveland say they’ve found no evidence to support that three dogs were tied up on a railroad track or that two of them were killed by a train, as they initially believed.
Authorities say they are now unsure whether it happened it all.
Cleveland police said an animal control officer told officers about the dogs after he spoke with a railroad worker who said he witnessed a dog being tied to the tracks. The worker also said someone appeared to take photographs or a video.
A police commander said Monday all they know now is that one dog narrowly missed being hit by a train. But it’s unclear whether that dog had been tied to the tracks.
Reports of the dog deaths last week outraged animal welfare groups.
