GARY — Gary police trying to solve the slaying of a 13-month-old boy four years ago are turning to a crime show for help.
Crews from "Crime Stoppers Case Files" were in town recently to film interviews with police and relatives of victims in unsolved cases including that of Josiah Shaw. The toddler was shot twice on Jan. 28, 2008, after the car he was in was stolen.
The Post-Tribune reports the show features cold cases in an attempt to generate tips that lead to an arrest. Shows focus on the region in which a crime occurred.
The Shaw case is one featured in the Chicago market.
Detective Cpl. Jeffrey Hornyak says police have two people of interest in the case but need evidence to make an arrest.
