Boilermakers finish tour with victory

Purdue ended its four-game Italian tour on a high note, defeating Amici del Campetto 108-72 Thursday in Castellanza, Italy.

Junior forward Sandi Marcius was one of six Purdue players to reach double figures in scoring as the Boilermakers finished 3-1 on their tour.

Marcius had 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Senior guard/forward D.J. Byrd, junior guard Terone Johnson and freshman guard Rapheal Davis scored 16 points. Davis, a Fort Wayne native, also had nine rebounds.

Purdue shot 52.4 percent from the field. Byrd went 5 for 7 on three-pointers. Johnson was 7 of 11 from the field while Davis went 7 for 14.

Freshman center A.J. Hammons had 11 points and junior forward Travis Carroll finished with 10 points.

Sophomore forward Jacob Lawson had seven rebounds. Hammons and sophomore guard Anthony Johnson had six rebounds.

Freshman guard Ronnie Johnson had seven points and 10 assists. Anthony Johnson and senior guard Dru Anthrop finished with five and four assists, respectively.
