Veterans and city officials gathered Friday to rededicate the WWI Memorial moved to McCulloch Park, which has been on the fenced-in grounds of nearby General Electric for 89 years. The memorial was erected on Nov. 11, 1924, in honor of the 748 FortFORT WAYNE – The northbound lanes of Interstate 69 will not see brief, intermittent closures overnight tonight. The Indiana Department of Transportation announced Thursday that tonight’s work has been canceled.
Work at the Union Chapel Bridge will take place over the southbound lanes next week, using intermittent, 20-minute closures between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.
The interchange remains on schedule to open by late fall, with the exception of the on-ramp to northbound I-69 from Union Chapel Road. The entire project is expected to be finished by summer 2013.
