A search of a shoplifting suspect early Monday in Warsaw uncovered methamphetamine and led to a meth lab at a rural Kosciusko County residence, the Warsaw Police Department said in a written statement.
It said Michael C. Crum, 30, was picked up at a Warsaw business and taken to the county jail on a shoplifting/theft charge. Police said a shoplifting suspect had meth on him and that items commonly used to make meth were then found.
Based on further information, Kosciusko County and Warsaw officers searched a residence in the 12000 stretch of South 200 West, southeast of Silver Lake. The Warsaw police report finding a one-pot meth lab and several items used to make methamphetamine.
Additional charges of dealing methamphetamine were filed against Crum, the police statement said.
The case will be reviewed by the Kosciusko County Prosecutor's Office.
