Fundraisers

Faith Lutheran Church, 9251 E. State Road 205, Churubusco, is having its annual chicken barbecue and garage sale Aug. 11. The barbecue is from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the garage sale is from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tickets range from $4 to $6.

Covenant United Methodist Church, 10001 Coldwater Road, is having a garage sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and 8 to 11 a.m. Aug. 11.

First Church of the Nazarene, 3515 W. State Blvd., is having a rummage and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 11.

Director named

The Associated Churches of Fort Wayne and Allen County, 602 E. Wayne St.,

has named Steve Staley as its new director of development. Staley will be in charge of fundraisers and sponsorship programs for Associated Churches ministries.

Special events

Life Bridge Church, 12719 Corbin Road, is having a Cross N Dagger event from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. The event will include a car and bike show, prizes, music, food and children’s events.

Bethany Lutheran Church, 2435 Engle Road, will have a block party from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday with food and games.

Aldersgate Academy is having an open house from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 2417 Getz Road.

Salem United Church of Christ, 2401 Lake Ave., will distribute school supplies from 6:45 to 7:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Lifetree Café will discuss how difficult it is to be healthy from 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Brew Ha! espresso café, 122 S. Jefferson St., Ossian.
