Mike Gallic scored from first base on a throwing error by catcher Pratt Maynard in the eighth inning, giving the TinCaps a 5-4 victory against Great Lakes in front of 7,801 fans Saturday at Parkview Field.
Gallic led off the eighth with an infield hit. With one out, Maynard caught a pitch by Yimi Garcia and then made a snap throw to first to try to pick off Gallic. The throw went wide of Great Lakes first baseman Jesse Bosnik and rolled all the way to the right-field wall.
Gallic raced around the bases and scored to give the TinCaps a 5-4 lead.
Matt Stites pitched the ninth for the save.
