Drowning victim identified

The Allen County Coroner's Office has identified the body of a 16-year-old boy found floating in a pond Sunday afternoon in southwest Allen County.

Quinton Reed Bryant of Fort Wayne accidentally drowned, the coroner's office said in a statement.

It said emergency responders were called to the 200 block of River Rock Pass about 2 p.m. Sunday. Bryant was pulled from the water and was pronounced dead at the scene, the statement said.

Bryant's family had reported to police that he was missing on Friday, Cpl. Jeremy Tinkel, a county police spokesman, said earlier.

The statement said the incident remains under investigation by county police, the coroner's office and the Department of Natural Resources.
