July 19: Day 20, Continued
I had a great time at Betty's Little Shop of Spinning here in Fort Wayne. She had a spin-in and Ask Betty night and it was fun to meet a bunch of other spinners and gawk at their wheels.
I brought the lovely spindle my sister lent me and everyone was nice enough to ask me where it was from. I didn't know, so I texted my sister this morning. The spindle was hand-carved by Hellen "Halla" Fleisher, who is awesome. The raven design isn't available right now, but if you want a lovely spindle, there are several designs for sale at The Woolery.
I spun for about an hour and chatted and shopped for about an hour, topping up my fiber stash with four big bumps of wool. Three of them are from Tunis sheep and the last one is a lovely naturally-colored Jacob.
July 20: Day 21
I spun a little Cheviot this morning for about 20 minutes, and took pictures of my haul from last night and my (borrowed) spindle. Then, I left my camera's card at home! I will probably run home and get it, though, so maybe I'll have photos for you later today. Le Sigh.
Update: photos!
