Notre Dame tight end Tyler Eifert landed on another preseason watch list Monday.
The Bishop Dwenger graduate was named to the Lombardi Award watch list. The award is given to the nations top lineman or linebacker.
The 6-foot-6, 251-pound Eifert was named to the watch lists for the Maxwell Award, which honors the college player of the year, and the Mackey Award, which goes to the nations most outstanding tight end, last week.
Eifert led all tight ends in the Football Bowl Subdivision with 63 receptions and 803 receiving yards last season.
He broke Notre Dames record for receptions and receiving yards by a tight end in a season last year.
Eifert was named a first-team All-American by the Walter Camp Football Foundation, a second-team Associated Press All-American and a third-team All-American by Rivals.com and Phil Steele.
Eifert was joined by three teammates on the Lombardi preseason list.
Linebacker Manti Teo, center Braxston Cave and offensive tackle Zack Martin are also on the list.
Purdue defensive tackle Kawann Short, who had 17 tackles for loss last season, was also on the Lombardi watch list.
Teo, who led the Irish with 128 tackles last season, was also named to the preseason watch list for the Butkus Award, given to the nations top linebacker.
