CHARDON, Ohio – Authorities say two people are dead in an apparent murder-suicide in a northeast Ohio community where three students were shot and killed at their high school earlier this year.
Geauga County Sheriff’s Department spokesman John Hiscox said the more recent shootings, apparently involving a husband and wife, occurred at a car repair shop north of the town square in Chardon, which is east of Cleveland.
Police got the call about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. There were no other immediate details, and authorities weren’t sure who did the shooting.
The names were withheld pending notification of relatives.
The news comes months after the town was rattled by a February shooting at Chardon High School that killed three students. A 17-year-old boy has been charged in those deaths.
