Shooting's bullets hit Indianapolis fire station

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Officials say bullets went through two windows at an Indianapolis fire station across the street from a deadly shooting over the weekend.

No one inside the fire station was hurt from the shooting late Saturday north of the city's downtown.

Police say a 21-year-old man was killed and a 19-year-old man suffered a leg wound in the shooting and that investigators believed the shots were fired from a passing car.

Firefighters heard the gunshots and gave immediate medical care to the injured men.

Fire Lt. Larry Tracy says one bullet entered through a stairway window and another went through a window into the station's training room. He says no firefighters were in those areas at the time.
